Let’s be realistic.  Everything in life has some type of risk associated with it.  Aviation is no exception.  This is why we go above and beyond to prioritize student safety.  This means using or allowing students to use proper equipment for their skill level.  It also means working adequately with the students’ learning curve and making sure students are very confident with the task at hand before taking any new tasks.  This means being honest with students at all times.  Paraglide Florida is committed to minimizing the risk factor as much as we can in every single step stone the pilot accomplishes.  We are USHPA and USPPA certified instructors and abide by their SOP’s.

Upon passing the P1 and P2 USPPA examinations, and after paying annual USPPA membership, you will receive your P1 and P2 pilot rating certification.  Even though you are not required to fly with a paramotor license, if you ever attend a fly inn or any other paramotor event, they will most likely ask for it.  Being certified and part of the USPPA also allows you access to all the benefits and resources that USPPA offers.

Third party liability Insurance is available to rated USPPA/USUA PPG pilots and instructors. This is done through First Flight Insurance under a program requiring United States Ultralight Association membership.

The USPPA or USUA does not sell insurance but First Flight requires a PPG 2 rating for personal insurance.

Appointments only.  Schedule your flight or training schedule with our instructor.

PPG2: Novice Pilot – Student is now considered a full-fledged pilot and can fly solo at nearly 90% of our flying sites nationally. It requires basic flying skills but, just as important, knowledge that allows venturing off to fly on his own.

A Novice paramotor pilot has the knowledge and basic skills necessary to fly and practice without direct instructor supervision but within significant operating limitations. The pilot understands the USPPA rating systems and recommended operating limitations. The pilot shall use good judgment and have a level of maturity commensurate with the rating. Pilots must demonstrate Beginner level skills and knowledge before obtaining the Novice rating. All witnessed flights must be pre-planned by the pilot and discussed with the Instructor.

    1. Should exceed these limitations only after thoroughly mastering all required tasks, and after acquiring a full understanding of the potential problems and dangers involved in exceeding these limitations.
    2. Maximum base wind of 12 MPH
    3. Maximum peak gusts to 15 MPH
    4. Should not fly in thermal lift where peak climb rates exceed 200 fpm.
    5. Avoid application of either brake beyond 2/3 of the way from slack to stall position in any situation
    6. Should fly a canopy recommended by the manufacturer as suitable for Beginner to intermediate rated pilots.

Paraglide Florida trains in different training sites.  We take our decisions based on student needs, place of residence, and weather conditions.   We use some local beaches in Palm Beach County where we can train in diverse wind conditions.  We use some public airports like HGA in Homestead and Belle Glades.  They offer huge take off and landings areas that suit students on their first fights.  We use other local nearby fields as well, that suit us perfectly for ground-handling in light wind conditions.

Our students in training will be part of a “WhatsUp” Group Chat named “ParaglideFloridaTraining” where we will share all pertinent details for any scheduled activities.

Most Important, a positive attitude.  Dress sporty, comfortable, protecting your ankles is always better. Wear shoes for active people.  Check your weather forecast and bring water, hat, sunglasses, face scarf, and an energy snack.  Remember its Florida. It gets very hot sometimes.

    We rise by lifting others.
